The Faculty of Medicine of the University and the University Hospital are combined under the common umbrella "University Medicine Göttingen" of the Georg-August-University. The aim of this integrative design ("integration model") is to anchor the close cooperation of the Medical Faculty and the University Hospital in patient care, teaching and research.
Since 1 May 1999, the University Medical Center Göttingen has been headed by a three-member board with the departments "Research and Teaching", "Health Care" and "Management and Administration".
Since 1 January 2003, the University Medical Center Göttingen belongs to the Public Law Foundation Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
