Faculties at Kiel University

The Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences offers a scientific education that is equally based on theory and application. Combining both sciences enables food production chains to be holistically analysed.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities researches and teaches the full spectrum of traditional humanities and social sciences, plus cross-disciplinary subjects which lead to joint degree programmes and projects with other faculties. Teacher training programmes play a major role.

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences follows the traditional Kiel profile of strong theoretical research and emphasizes the quantitative-empirical search for knowledge. This ensures the high quality and timeliness of its teaching content and knowledge transfer.

The Faculty of Engineering focuses on current and future issues in this field. Its research is based on the needs of a modern society and its economy. The faculty passes these needs on to its students in an especially practical way and in close contact with research.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is divided into eight departments which are highly research-oriented and interlinked, both with one another and with disciplines from other faculties. This results in a range of degree programmes on offer which benefit from highly topical research projects.

Die Medizinische Fakultät widmet sich der human- und zahnmedizinischen Forschung und Ausbildung. Einen besonderen Fokus legt sie dabei auf die Digitale Medizin, den Umgang mit medizinischen Datensätzen. Während die vorklinischen und klinisch-theoretischen Institute an der Kieler Universität angesiedelt sind, befinden sich die klinischen Bereiche am Campus Kiel des Universitätsklinikums Schleswig-Holstein …

Die Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät bildet Juristinnen und Juristen praxis- und forschungsnah aus. Insbesondere internationale Dimensionen, Fragen des Wirtschaftsrechts sowie historische und philosophische Grundlagen stehen im Mittelpunkt der Lehr- und der Forschungstätigkeiten an der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät.

Die Theologische Fakultät vereint Studium und Forschung der Evangelischen Theologie und konfessionsunabhängiger ethischer Fragen. Von der Lehramtsausbildung über die praktische theologische Forschung bis zu historischen Studien ist die Theologische Fakultät der Kieler Universität breit liberal-theologisch aufgestellt. Die Theologische Fakultät beherbergt fünf Institute. Daneben sind hier weitere Einrichtungen angesiedelt.
