Medical Faculty

The Faculty of Medicine is an integral part of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. It is the founding faculty of the two roots of Martin Luther University: Halle and Wittenberg. In Halle, medicine has been available since 1694.

In addition to the degree program in Medicine, the Faculty offers the study programs Dentistry, the Bachelor Degree Course "Evidence-based Nursing" (B.Sc.) and the Master of Science "Nursing and Health Care Sciences" as well as the PhD program "Participation as the Goal of Nursing and Therapy" very well equipped institutes and clinics.

The University Hospital Halle (Saale) is, as stipulated in the Higher Education Act of the Land of Saxony-Anhalt, an independent institution under public law and serves the Medical Faculty of Teaching and Research.

The Medical Faculty is an integral part of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, one of the oldest and most venerable universities in Germany with more than 500 years of history. In Halle, medicine can be studied since 1694.

Excellent academic achievements at the national level, excellent publication activities and the acquisition of third-party funds speak for the expertise of the faculty. The Faculty of Medicine has three attractive courses in medicine, dentistry and nursing and health sciences in well-equipped institutes and clinics. The study of medicine provides excellent cross-curricular and practice-related training in all preclinical and clinical subjects.

The theoretical institutes are located in the city center. The training at the patient takes place in the modern university hospital in the district Kröllwitz. The Practical Year is completed at both the University Clinics and the Academic Teaching Hospitals. Halle is the only place in Saxony-Anhalt where practice-oriented dental training is offered.
