Building products and processes, B.Eng.
The construction industry is currently evolving in many ways, and with it the courses on offer. With Building Products and Processes, the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences is primarily addressing the megatrends of digitization and climate change. In addition, the course is geared towards internationality and globalization. You will learn how to develop resource-saving, recyclable building products that are ideally reusable. And you are able to process them digitally with the appropriate programs and models in medium-sized and large building construction projects. You will get everything you need at home and abroad in the lectures. A valuable building block for your studies at DIT are the numerous local companies - there you can find laboratory internships as well as positions for your practical semester and your thesis. The hybrid course structure of engineering and management and the bilingual lecture concept provide you with an offer that is unique in the German study landscape.

Will I get in
The programme has an admission restriction: the average grade of your certificate, converted to the German scale, decides. The cut-off changes every year — last year's value shows the order of magnitude, not a promise.
How the selection works and how strong the competition is — we go through it against your certificate when we select programmes for you.

After completing your studies, you will be able to develop sustainable building products, market them and successfully process them on construction sites around the world. You will contribute your knowledge of the complex construction systems of the building structure (concrete, masonry, steel and timber construction, hybrid construction) - as well as your knowledge of the building shell (facade to roof) and interior design (floor, ceiling, wall). You have to be fit in these areas, because the demands on the products are constantly increasing: architecturally mature, compliant with building regulations, resource-saving, recyclable, healthy. And these are just a few of the attributes that a building product will have to fulfill in the future. You also know the finishing trades (building automation, heating, ventilation, plumbing) including their numerous interfaces.

When developing and processing construction products, engineers in the Building Products and Processes degree program rely on the consistent use of digital building blocks (BIM) for the efficient networking of all those involved in the planning, manufacture and construction of buildings. After your studies you will have a high level of language skills. Confident handling of both German and English-language literature, building regulations, EN standards, etc. is day-to-day business for engineers in the Building Products and Processes degree program. You have to implement and coordinate building specifications and technical documents accordingly during construction. The modular structure of the lectures and the teaching of both technical and linguistic skills offer graduates excellent career opportunities in all branches of the national and international construction industry. If you want, you can travel the world through your job.

The procedure and the set of documents depend on your certificate. We check the university's requirements against your documents and give you a list: what to submit, how to certify and translate it, where and when to apply.
Check the requirementsHow to get into this programme
- 1Check your certificate and its recognitionDirect admission, a year at a university at home, or Studienkolleg first — this decides the whole plan.
- 2German up to B2 and a certificateDSH or TestDaF has to be passed before you apply.
- 3Documents and translationsCertified translations of the certificate and transcript, an APS if required. 3–4 weeks.
- 4Application directly to the university until 15.07Send the documents well before the deadline — an incomplete application cannot be completed after it.
- 5Admission, visa, movingPlan 2–3 months for the visa and the blocked account in parallel.
How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
