- How do automotive groups organize their supply chains "just in time"?
- How do online sellers suggest books that others have bought?
- How do mobile phone companies identify customers who are about to churn in order to give them better deals?
- How can processes in companies and administrations be digitized?
Business informatics provides the answer to these questions by supporting companies in designing their internal and external information and communication flows. With us you will learn to get to the bottom of these questions and to solve interdisciplinary problems.
What you study
The course is divided into six semesters. In addition to imparting technical knowledge and soft skills, great importance is attached to the practical relevance of the content taught.
In addition to a solid basic education in the fields of business administration and computer science, the course imparts skills in the field of social sciences and law - there is also the possibility of an individual focus. The strong practical orientation of the course is reflected not only in the content, but also in the form of the events. In addition to lectures, the focus is on student presentations, group work and practical projects. In the sixth semester, you will first complete an internship in a company or institution and then complete your final thesis. During their studies, students have access to the latest software from the field of business informatics.

Business IT applications have become indispensable in all economic sectors. There is now hardly a business process that is not supported by IT technology.
Business IT specialists plan and develop operational information and communication systems, use them and maintain them. To do this, they analyze the business processes and organizational structures of companies and administrations.

Business informatics is one of the most interesting, versatile and promising fields of study and according to leading business organizations and specialist institutions (e.g. the BitKOM trade association, the Association of German Engineers (VDI), the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) ), the need for well-trained computer scientists will (again) increase rapidly in the future .

How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
