Programme selection →What you study
The focus is on the cultural area of the British Isles and on the countries shaped by Great Britain. Depending on your interests, the combination of Modules II and IV can broaden the scope of the B.A. be continued or an epoch or subject area can be studied in depth. An interdisciplinary module offers students the opportunity to explore the traditions and diversification of Anglophone literatures, cultures and languages in a larger context. The complementary and interdisciplinary orientation of the master's program is supplemented by compulsory elective courses from related disciplines. The aim is to supplement and expand the desired research perspective in specific areas of English studies through a broad and transdisciplinary range of teaching and research. Another important component of the research-oriented Master's program is the "Research Workshop" module and the associated courses in the field of theory and methodology. Here, as in the "Professional Orientation" module, the focus is in particular on the early participation of the students in research projects in English studies and an introduction to independent scientific work.

How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
