Industrial Sales and Innovation Management, M.A.
What do a wind farm and a pizza box have in common? In both cases, your customer wants an individual, efficient solution to his task. This requires intelligent ideas, creative courage and professional implementation. It is the task of industrial sales to initiate, coordinate and complete all of this. It's not always about big, new technologies. Even the little problems of everyday life challenge us.

MISIM: Process design throughout the entire value chain
Industrial sales encompasses all forms of sales processes in the B2B (business-to-business) area and all actions within the value chain. This begins, for example, with the preparation of an offer for a hard drive or a pizza box, continues with the production and delivery of the goods and ends with the "after sales service" and the spare parts business. Students on the Industrial Sales and Innovation Management (MISIM) master’s course at HTW Berlin acquire detailed knowledge of all stages of the industrial sales process. The precise organization of logistics is just as much a part of the course as customer-specific sales. The focus of the course is on all technical products from the pizza carton mentioned in the example to complex capital goods. But software and services are not neglected at MISIM either.

In the first two semesters, you will acquire specialist and methodological knowledge from sales, management, technology, market research and law. Product development and innovation as well as Business English round off the curriculum. The third semester is used to prepare the master's thesis and practical exercises from sales work in order to prepare you optimally for your professional assignment.

B2B and CRM - Abbreviations with a future
No longer just selling, but designing processes - that is, in summary, the changed task in B2B sales. Depending on the size of the company, graduates of the Master’s degree in Industrial Sales and Innovation Management can work on the entire range of tasks, from sales to innovation management in the context of product development, or specialize in individual areas. However, a central aspect of all tasks is the function as a communicator between the customer and the company. Other possible fields of work are market research, communication policy and acquisition, the preparation of offers and specification of product properties through to successful project management, distribution and commissioning of products. In addition, customer loyalty management (CRM) is becoming an increasingly central task in companies. Successful B2B sales develop tailor-made solutions together with the customer, which can also represent a high level of innovation. In this respect, our graduates have mastered the methods of innovation management and can successfully control an innovation process.

How to apply

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents

- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
