Admission goes through an aptitude assessment: the university checks how well the subjects, credits and grades of your previous education fit the programme. There is no fixed cut-off — the assessment is comparative.
How the selection works and how strong the competition is — we go through it against your certificate when we select programmes for you.
Programme selection →What you study
The program is generally taught in English. Since international students improve their German language skills in semesters 1-4, German-language modules can be chosen in later semesters. International students learn German, while German-speaking students learn a second foreign language offered by the university's Language Center (Italian, Spanish, French, or Chinese) at the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Technical University.

Your career opportunities are excellent and you have very good earning potential!
In the field of international business informatics, companies need employees who can, for example, program applications to support business processes, plan and implement large global IT projects, or advise managers on information process issues. In a global world, these employees must also be linguistically and interculturally confident.
Business Informatics integrates computer science and business administration into an interdisciplinary subject and is one of the most important disciplines of the 21st century. Everyday life and the world of work have been transformed by computers and, above all, the Internet. Therefore, computer scientists have excellent career opportunities not only in the field of computer science and information technology, but also in business administration. To meet the demands of global companies and customers around the world, these specialists must possess not only expertise in information systems but also strong international skills.
Employment Opportunities
The job profile of an international expert in business informatics and information systems is complex and diverse. It includes support for larger networked IT systems, application programming, systems analysis and maintenance of existing software systems, design of new applications, reengineering of business processes, planning and implementation of large global IT projects, sales, support and design of applications, consulting on information processing issues, training of employees and customers, as well as web design and multimedia production. Given the general shortage of computer scientists and IT specialists, the global career opportunities for information systems specialists remain very good.

How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
