Many modern questions require a solid understanding of both mathematics and computer science. Moreover, mathematics forms the foundation of computer science, while computer science in turn offers exciting areas of application for mathematics.
The Saarbrücken Computer Science department is known for its strong emphasis on mathematical foundations, and within the Mathematics Department, there are renowned research groups that solve problems using computers.
With the integrated Bachelor's program in Mathematics and Computer Science, Germany has for the first time created the opportunity to study the fundamentals of both disciplines equally.
