About the programme

The Pharmaceutical Institute of the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen is the largest in Baden-Württemberg: More than 700 students are currently studying here, who are supervised by ten professors, three junior professors and more than 60 academic staff. All pharmaceutical subjects are represented in research and teaching by professors from the Pharmaceutical Institute. The long tradition of introducing students to scientific research through a six-month pharmaceutical diploma thesis has been developed into an interdisciplinary and international Master of Science. The M. Sc. Since WS 13/14, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies has offered pharmacy and B. Sc. Students from biomedical and natural sciences subjects a broad spectrum of deepening and specialization in pharmaceutical sciences.

What you study

Graduates of the master's program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology have exactly the skills required here. Due to the in-depth training in the core pharmaceutical subjects selected by the students, you will have extensive specialist knowledge. For example, a graduate will have specialist expertise in the field of drug discovery that is based on modern chemical methods, but is also usefully supplemented by knowledge, for example, of molecular design or bioanalytics. Modern target identification will be part of the range of methods as well as knowledge of the core biopharmaceutical processes or regulatory requirements. Graduates can also meet the requirements for starting a career in these areas much better thanks to their deeper knowledge in the field of drug form development and production. Thanks to the flexible design of the course, a high degree of interdisciplinarity is also achieved within pharmacy. In addition, thanks to the open design of the course and its flexibility, the graduates have the opportunity to gain additional knowledge that can be significant for the job market. By choosing modules from subjects outside of pharmacy, such as From computer science (for production), molecular biology (for drug development) or psychology (for marketing or patient use), great additional benefits can be acquired for work in the relevant positions in the pharmaceutical industry.

You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.

Apply yourself

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:

  • ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
  • ×a wrong set of documents

  • ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late

StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.

If your level is not enough yet

The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
