About the college
Admission requirements summer/winter semester
Since the classes at the preparatory college and the external assessment test are held in German, proof of a corresponding language level must be provided in addition to the university entrance qualification.
Students who have already successfully completed language level B1 start 10 weeks earlier with the preparatory college.
For students who have already achieved language level B2, but none of the officially recognized certificates (Goethe-Certificate B2, TestDaF [4x TDN 3], telc Deutsch B2, DSH-1, DSD 2 or ÖSD ), the preparatory college starts 7 weeks earlier.
Anyone who has one of the officially recognized language certificates can start at the preparatory college on the regular date (see box on the right).
Admission to public universities
After passing the assessment test, you can apply for admission to a German state university with our staff.
The application is generally possible at all universities, as the FSP is recognized throughout Germany by the district government of Cologne.
The internal FSP of our partner university allows you to choose from 15 state bachelor's programs at the partner university, as well as to apply to the other universities in Thuringia.
Study fees at the preparatory college
The Rheinisches Studienkolleg is a private institution.

To apply with us, order at least 2 weeks before the application deadline — for the nearest intake by 19.01.2027. What matters is the order itself — documents can follow later: these two weeks are exactly the time for checking and preparing them. The earlier you order, even if something is still missing, the calmer and more reliably we prepare everything together for the strongest application.
