Applicants for the G-course and the DSH course must complete a German language test during the entrance exam. This consists of two parts:
- C-test (30 min)
- Text production based on the target language (30 min)
Applicants for the G-course also complete an English entrance exam (30 minutes).

The FSP takes place at the end of the second semester. It is a necessary prerequisite for students attending the Studienkolleg to begin studying in Germany. The FSP consists of three written exams:
- German (240 minutes)
- History (180 minutes)
- Social Studies (180 minutes)
If the difference between the preliminary grade and the exam grade is greater than or equal to 2, an additional oral exam must be taken.

Preparation for university studies typically lasts two semesters.
You will have 32 hours of instruction per week. The language of instruction is German. You will receive detailed information about the semester schedule, exams, and admission to the exam from your course supervisors or subject teachers.
With an FSP certificate, you can apply for study at all colleges and universities in the Federal Republic of Germany. However, you must base your choice of subject on the course you have attended.

- 3Apply via a universityYou apply to a bachelor's programme of a linked university; the university admits you conditionally and sends you to the college.
- 4Entrance examGerman and the main subject of the course; places go to the best results.
The application goes to a partner university of the college, for the bachelor's programme you want to study later; the university sends it on to the college.
Typical mistakes:

An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
