The courses take place in the rooms of the Philipps University of Marburg and the Technical University of Central Hesse in Giessen. The M and T courses usually take place in the rooms of the Technical University of Central Hesse in Giessen, while the W and G courses are decided at short notice.
The training in the specialist courses at the preparatory college usually lasts one year (= 2 semesters). After successfully completing the 1st semester at the preparatory college, students are admitted to the 2nd semester. It is possible to repeat the 1st semester if the knowledge is not yet sufficient to attend the 2nd semester. The assessment test (FSP) takes place at the end of the second semester. Anyone who does not pass this exam can repeat the second semester. You can only repeat each semester once. Applicants with good prior knowledge can take the assessment test after just one semester.
The courses take place as follows:
- Winter semester: beginning of September to the end of January, holidays: December 24th to the beginning of January
- Summer semester: beginning of March to the end of July, holidays in August
As a student at the preparatory college, you are required to attend all classes and to take part in regular (written and oral) performance assessments.

To apply with us, order at least 2 weeks before the application deadline — for the nearest intake by 01.04.2027. What matters is the order itself — documents can follow later: these two weeks are exactly the time for checking and preparing them. The earlier you order, even if something is still missing, the calmer and more reliably we prepare everything together for the strongest application.
