Faculty of Business Administration and Economics stands for a quantitative orientation in economics in research and teaching. This is clearly reflected in the research areas, research associations and projects as well as the courses offered.
The faculty has close personal connections to the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Institute for Mathematical Economic Research and the Center for Statistics and, with several DFG and BMBF projects, its own research associations and a DFG-funded International Graduate School, is one of the leading locations in Germany in economic research . In addition to the pronounced research orientation, our faculty maintains close contacts to the East Westphalian economy (Bielefeld 2000plus, BU2BU and iTIME) in order to provide high-level training not only scientifically but also practically.
