Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences

Hochschule Osnabrück
The Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences has a high reputation in the region and far beyond. It is the largest and highest performance university of applied sciences in Lower Saxony. Four faculties (Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture, Engineering and Computer Science, Management, Culture and Technology in Lingen, as well as Business Management and Social Sciences) and the Institute of Music form the backbone of the university at the two locations in Osnabrück and Lingen. With around 110 degree programs, the Bachelor's, Master's and advanced training levels is truly comprehensive. Our university has been a pioneer in many areas of academic training – in the establishment of new degree programs, for example – and has thus earned the reputation of being an innovative and progressive institution of higher education. Now with 13,700 students (as of dec. 2016), our ever-growing university has reached an impressive size. Nonetheless, it has cultivated and maintained the character of a familiar and personal place of teaching and learning.

About the university

Faculties

The faculty determines the campus, the language of its programmes and the admission committee that evaluates your grades. Requirements can differ between faculties of the same university.

Studienkolleg

If your school certificate does not give direct admission, you first go to a Studienkolleg and pass the Feststellungsprüfung — it is recognised by every university. The colleges listed here are this university's partners.

How to apply

The general procedure is the same for all programmes of the university; the required grade, language and additional requirements are on the page of each programme.

  1. 1
    Check your school-leaving certificate
Direct admission, admission after a year at a university at home, or Studienkolleg first — it depends on your country and certificate.
  2. 2
    Application via uni-assist
Bachelor's until 15.06, master's until 15.07. Deadlines differ between programmes — check the programme page.
  3. 3
    Admission, visa, moving
Plan 2–3 months for the visa and the blocked account — start them in parallel with the application.

If you don't meet the requirements yet

Two typical stops: a school certificate without direct admission and German below the required level. Both can be solved within a year, but plan them before you apply, not after a rejection.
