About the university
The University of Regensburg represents the university’s idea of the unity of research and teaching. Only then will science gain its own momentum and can self-critically review and renew itself.
The University of Regensburg guarantees the freedom of research and teaching. Scientific work must be independent of external constraints and ideological influences. This includes the researcher’s freedom to choose the object and method of the research itself, the freedom of the instructor to determine the content of the lesson, and the student’s freedom to decide on the choice of study.
The University of Regensburg fulfills its social and ethical responsibilities in research and teaching. It is committed to the dignity of man and to the need for protection of nature. Science is indispensable for the development of all areas of society. The university therefore addresses social issues and contributes to their solution. Academic education shapes the whole person. The university therefore sees its task in the development of a qualified and responsible junior academic staff.
The University of Regensburg sees itself as a university community; Women and men are equal. In fulfilling their duties, the members work together actively. In addition to technical excellence and creativity, the University promotes the strengthening of personalities who are characterized by motivation, scientific curiosity, critical ability, reliability and willingness to take responsibility. The members of the University of Regensburg are encouraged to take responsibility.

Studienkolleg
If your school certificate does not give direct admission, you first go to a Studienkolleg and pass the Feststellungsprüfung — it is recognised by every university. The colleges listed here are this university's partners.
