About the university

The courses offered here distinguish themselves through their emphasis on practical experiences and individual possibilities. The project „Klassenmusizieren“ has been created in cooperation with different schools and with the Villingen Schwenningen Music academy.

The Trossingen University of Music undertakes many outstanding musical activities. These range from contemporary chamber music to large concerts with choirs, orchestras as well as music and motion theatre productions. As a result our activities in the Bodensee region are a significant part of the cultural identity for the entire region. Through partnerships with the „Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen“ and the „Südwestdeutschen Philharmonie Konstanz“, the Trossingen University of Music offers to its students additional concert opportunities.

The study options are enhanced by international projects, courses and workshops, as well as scientific symposia. These particularly enhance both the ‘Rhythmics’ and Early Music departments.

These projects are meant for students, as well as for people who already finished their studies – lifelong learning (LLL) is becoming more and more important.

In partnership with the IzM of the Frankfurt School of Music and the SWR, the Trossingen School of Music offers the highly esteemed „OFF-Program“ for all students of composition in Germany as part of the Donaueschinger Musiktage.
