Faculty of Statistics

Fakultät Statistik

The Faculty of Statistics of TU Dortmund University is the only stand-alone statistics faculty in German-speaking countries. The faculty offers programs in Statistics (Bachelor’s and Master’s) as well as in Data Analysis and Data Management (Bachelor’s), and Data Science (Master’s).

The field of statistics consists of applied mathematics and problem-oriented data analysis with interdisciplinary applications. There is hardly a scientific discipline or industrial branch today that can function without modern statistical methods. Their application in medicine, business and technology provides answers to many interesting questions and offers solutions to challenging problems. Studying statistics means learning to use theoretical tools to solve practical problems in economics, technology, or medicine. The specialization options in the degree program Statistics are as diverse as its applications: the minor can be chosen from the entire range of subjects offered at TU Dortmund University.
