Students choose a university and a university city for several years of their lives. We think that the OTH Amberg-Weiden and the cities of Amberg and Weiden can offer students a lot.

Learning close to life

The economy needs pragmatists: We attach great importance to making our courses of study concrete and practical. To do this, we work closely with national and international companies. In addition, students can study, research, broaden their horizons and make valuable connections for their future careers in our innovative learning locations.

Future-oriented courses

If you want to teach close to life, you have to keep your finger on the pulse of the times. Our innovative courses are geared towards the tasks of the future and are internationally oriented. With us, our students learn knowledge and skills that will help them advance - in their work and in life.

Do more ...

Would you like a little more? We are happy to support students in acquiring additional qualifications beyond their actual studies. We offer numerous additional training courses for this.

Short distances, clear contacts

We value short communication channels and clear contact persons. And that applies to all levels! Anyone who comes to the student office is looked after in a friendly and competent manner by the staff. Anyone who would like to speak to a professor will receive an appointment immediately. This is how we ensure that our students receive all the information they need for their studies quickly and easily.

Family atmosphere

Large universities mostly offer anonymous bulk processing - the student is little more than a matriculation number. It's different with us: the lecturers know students by name, the groups in seminars or lectures are usually manageable. Those who prefer to study in smaller groups and appreciate a personal atmosphere between teachers and students are in good hands at the Amberg-Weiden University and get through their studies faster.

Beautiful life in Weiden and Amberg

Weiden and Amberg are two medium-sized cities in the Upper Palatinate. And that's good for students. Because the euro is worth more here than in Munich, Regensburg or Erlangen - students live in attractive apartments for relatively little rent. All other living costs are also lower. Nevertheless, you benefit from a wide range of leisure and cultural activities in both cities, which you can enjoy in your free time.
