Accommodation
Bright & Comfortable Dorm Rooms
Dormitory rooms are light-filled and welcoming, typically furnished with two beds; select rooms accommodate three to four students. Shared showers and toilets are conveniently located on each floor, and complimentary Wi-Fi ensures constant connectivity.
Thoughtful Roommate Matching
Room assignments pair students with similar German proficiency and age, while differing native languages—promoting conversational practice beyond the classroom. Male and female participants reside in separate wings to maintain a respectful environment.
Nutritious Meal Plan
Students enjoy three balanced meals daily—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—plus a mid-day snack, all served in the communal dining hall.
Weekly Laundry Service
A complimentary weekly laundry service handles personal clothing. Fresh bed linens and sheets are provided and changed regularly; students should bring their own towels.
For the visa an address for the whole stay matters. If you look for housing yourself, allow two weeks for it before applying at the consulate.
Location
Munich isn’t just home to the world-famous Oktoberfest—this vibrant city offers far more. Renowned attractions such as the Deutsches Museum, Bavaria Film Studios, BMW Welt & Museum, and the Allianz Arena football stadium add to the unique allure of this historic “Weltstadt mit Herz.” Meanwhile, the bustling Marienplatz remains the social heart of the city.
Students benefit from Munich’s rich cultural calendar—concerts, festivals, shopping districts, and top-tier sports venues abound. Parents can rest assured: Munich combines metropolitan excitement with small-town safety and charm, consistently ranking among Germany’s safest cities.
Convenient and secure transfers from Munich Airport are provided via the Humboldt transfer service, ensuring a smooth start to the summer language program.

Leisure and excursions
A leisure programme every day: sports, creative workshops, evening activities; two excursions a week — a half day mid-week and a full day on Saturday. Entrance fees are included; taking part is compulsory.
- Mon–Fri mornings — lessons 8:30–13:00; a weekly test on Friday
- Afternoons — lessons as per the course, sports, workshops or a city walk; mid-week a half-day excursion (the Olympic Park with a stadium tour)
- Evenings — homework and an evening programme: a campfire, improvisational theatre, karaoke
- Saturday — a full-day excursion — Füssen: a dragon-boat race on the Forggensee and the Marienbrücke
- Sunday — brunch, sports and relaxing
- Bedtime — 22:30, on Friday and Saturday 23:30
The programme changes every week — by the students' interests and the weather.
Supervision and rules
Teachers and counsellors of the school supervise the students around the clock — one supervisor for 15 students, according to the school. Boys and girls are housed separately. Phones are switched off in lessons, meals and activities. Going into town follows the school's rules: younger children twice a week with a supervisor, teenagers in groups of three, signing out and in. Bedtime depends on the age. Alcohol and smoking are forbidden; breaking the rules may lead to expulsion.
Contact with parents. The school's phone number and the times to call come with the course documents; the school has a 24-hour child-protection line. A StudyInFocus coordinator is in touch with the parents during office hours: documents, visa, transfer and questions to the school. At the camp the children are looked after by the school's staff.
Health. A measles vaccination is compulsory. Allergies, illnesses and medication are reported to the school in writing at enrolment; if needed, the staff take the student to a doctor. Vegetarian meals or meals without certain ingredients on request.
