Key facts about admission via a Studienkolleg

Who it's for

School leavers whose certificate does not give direct access to a German university, and those who need to improve their language.

How much it costs

€4,480 in instalments, 5 payments: €3,490 for the Studienkolleg and €990 for university admission. Or €3,980 in one payment — for the Studienkolleg and university at once.

When to start

Ideally 12–24 months ahead. Studienkolleg deadlines for the winter semester run from 30 April to 15 July, depending on the Studienkolleg. The earlier you start, the wider the choice and the better your prospects.

What you need to apply

A school leaving certificate — you can apply while still in your final year. German is usually B1–B2 for the Studienkolleg entrance exam.

What's included

16 steps of our method: career guidance, strategy, selection, documents and applications — first up to 5 Studienkollegs, then up to 5 universities; visa, housing and a curator until the residence permit.

What you pay separately

uni-assist, university and consulate fees, the semester contribution, translations and certifications, the amount in the blocked account and tuition fees, if any.

Two admissions — one price

First a Studienkolleg, then university — under one contract

University admission after the Studienkolleg is usually bought all over again. In the programme it is already included: €990 is the last payment in the schedule, and if you pay upfront it is included in €3,980.

We spread the applications across selection levels and deadlines — so the result doesn't depend on a single “yes”.

When the contract price changes

What is a Studienkolleg and who needs it?

A preparatory Studienkolleg at a university, for those whose school leaving certificate does not give direct access to a German university. It usually lasts a year and ends with an exam that opens the way to university.

Why €4,480 and not €3,490?

Via a Studienkolleg there are two admissions: first to the Studienkolleg, then to university. €3,490 is the path to the Studienkolleg and relocation, €990 is university admission in the year you apply. If you pay upfront — €3,980 for everything in one payment.

Can I apply while still in my final year of school?

Yes, you can apply with your school leaving certificate while still in your final year. We'll put the exact conditions of each Studienkolleg into the register of requirements.

What level of German do I need?

Usually B1–B2 for the Studienkolleg entrance exam. The exact level depends on the Studienkolleg — we'll check it during the requirements check.

Studienkolleg or language courses?

If your certificate does not give direct access to university, you need a Studienkolleg. If you have access but your language isn't good enough yet, the path is via language courses. We decide this when working on the strategy.

What if I don't get in?

The guarantee year¹ applies: a repeat support cycle with no extra charge for our services, under the terms of the contract. This is not a guarantee of admission — the university makes the decision. If you need an admission guarantee with a refund, that's a separate product, Guarantee+, through partner private universities.

I don't know exactly when to apply yet. Is that a problem?

No. In the first steps, while working on the strategy, we'll decide for certain, and if needed we'll discuss moving to a later semester. The contract price stays the same.
