Continuing education as a general practitioner or physician with area designation takes place after approval in university hospitals or clinics and lasts four to six years, depending on the area of specialization. In addition, training in special medical fields is possible (for example, allergology, occupational medicine, homeopathy, natural remedies, psychotherapy, sports medicine, tropical medicine), which allows the management of an additional name. Further education is regulated by the regional medical associations.
