About the method

O. G. Filimonova's version of A. E. Golomshtok's interest map: 145 statements, 29 areas with 5 statements each. The answer runs from −2 («dislike very much») to +2 («like very much»), an area's score is the sum with signs, from −10 to +10. We replaced outdated items with current ones in the same area (TV programmes with videos, «at school» with «at school, university or on courses») and renamed the area «Military professions» to «Defence and security». The levels of interest are recalculated for the ±10 range and are approximate.

Frequently asked questions

Why 145 questions?
The method has 29 areas with 5 statements each. To make it easier, the questions come in screens of 5 and the answers are saved in the browser — you can pause and continue later.
How is the score calculated?
Answers from −2 to +2 are added up over the five statements of an area, so an area scores from −10 to +10. The levels of interest are approximate: the method has no official norms.
How is it different from RIASEC and the Holland test?
Those tests describe a type of interests, the map — interest in specific areas: biology, technology, law, art and others. Together they give a fuller picture.
Is it free?
Yes. The short result is open right away, the full report on all areas is free as well.
