Программа обучения Aerospace Engineering

Программа обучения "Aerospace Engineering" в University of Stuttgart

Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik

In the aerospace engineering course, everything revolves around flying, inside and outside the earth's atmosphere. Are you interested in airplanes, helicopters, rockets and satellites? Then you've come to the right place.

The University of Stuttgart is the only civil university in Germany that enables you to this focus in your bachelor's degree. In addition to scientific and mathematical skills, you will acquire engineering and application-oriented knowledge during your studies. In questions and applications, you work on aerospace topics right from the start.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Aerospace Engineering"

As the name of the course suggests, graduates can later work in the aerospace industry in development and research. In their work, they deal, for example, with new airplanes, helicopters, satellites or carrier systems (rockets).

But aerospace engineering graduates are also in demand in other sectors. Because the fundamentals-oriented structure of the course makes it possible to switch to other areas.

Aerospace engineering students can often be found in the following sectors after their studies:

  • Airlines
  • Mechanical engineering and automotive industry
  • Energy technology and supply
  • Engine Industry
  • Engineering offices
  • Research institutions
  • Management Consultancies
  • governmental institutions

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "Aerospace Engineering"

For undergraduates to the winter semester 2019/20, the duration of the pre-internship will be shortened: If possible, a six-week pre-study internship is to be taken before the study is completed (instead of the previous 8 weeks). The revised Internship Guidelines will be posted on the Internship Office website soon.

In the sixth semester, a 12-week internship is scheduled in the industry. The aim of the practical internship is to give the students an insight into the diversity of the operational processes and professional perspectives of this subject area. The bachelor thesis offers integration into current research and development projects.

Учебный план программы обучения "Aerospace Engineering"

In the first three semesters you will deal with the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals. They attend courses in higher mathematics, physics, information technology, technical mechanics, materials science and design theory. The second half is dominated by application-oriented engineering disciplines such as statics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, aerospace, systems engineering and aeronautical engineering/drives.

The main focus is on expanding knowledge and developing new, innovative and interdisciplinary methods. This is also the fundamental difference to studying at a university of applied sciences or a dual university.

Faculty 6: Aerospace Engineering and Geodesy
    University of Stuttgart

The faculty for Aerospace Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Stuttgart is in an internationally outstanding position because of the way it connects fundamental aviation technologies, space travel, and geodesy. It is nationally the only aviation and aerospace engineering faculty at a public university; the combination with geodesy is also nationally unique. Its strong focus on teaching fundamental principles, combined with targeted, practice-oriented areas of specialization, creates a distinctive profile that counts as a mark of quality in Stuttgart’s research and industry sectors.

The approximately 2000 students of aerospace engineering and geodesy also learn about the interdisciplinary research areas of aviation technology, aircraft development, propulsion systems, avionics, spacecraft ascent and re-entry, satellite technology, and earth observation. The theses developed in these areas cover a wide range of topics, including mission analysis, flight control, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, material development, structural development, construction design, system development, and the operation and combustion of air-breathing propulsion systems.

    Методика оценки заявок

The sum of the points achieved in the high school diploma is divided: high school diplomas with a maximum of 900 points are divided by 30, high school diplomas with a maximum of 840 points are divided by 28 (max. 30 points) .

Other selection criteria (maximum 5 points):

    • Completed vocational training in a mathematical, scientific or technical apprenticeship or
Relevant professional practice (also without completed training),
    • Practical activities (except mandatory pre-study internship)
    • Special previous education or extracurricular achievements and qualifications (e.g. prizes, awards, licences) that provide particular information about suitability.

    Selection:
The scores from the academic and other criteria are added up (maximum 35 points). A ranking is formed based on the score.

Curriculum vitae: For a better overview of your documents, you can upload a CV. This is not evaluated, but only serves as an overview.
