Ожидаемые результаты программы обучения "Architecture"

The graduates understand the comprehensive content of the discipline of architecture and the diverse and complex work of architects, which is particularly reflected in the closely interlinked project phases of a building task. They are able to develop architectural and urban spaces independently; they carry out the design process with the help of classic and digital tools. You correctly assess the relevant materials and materials and combine them with different construction methods. They know the fundamentals of statics and building physics, master the essential aspects of energy-efficient planning of buildings and, thanks to their knowledge of the history of the building, deal responsibly with historical buildings.

Through your stay at a foreign partner university, you have strong intercultural skills. You work productively and goal-oriented in a team and are aware of the social, economic and ecological effects of your actions. Your expanded understanding of space allows you to formulate contemporary recommendations for the development of the built environment.

Professional status: Graduates are allowed to use the protected title of engineer and are therefore restricted in their building submission rights.

Учебный план программы обучения "Architecture"

The course is designed to last eight semesters. Two semesters take place at a foreign partner university; a voluntary internship is recommended during the course of the course.

The first four semesters convey the basics of perception and design skills, the methodology of architectural design and the basics of the scientific-technical as well as the humanities and social science sub-disciplines of architecture. They are therefore predominantly characterized by compulsory subjects.

In the 5th and 6th semester, the course takes place at a foreign partner university. The learning content will continue to be closely coordinated with the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich.

In the 7th semester as well as in the 8th semester, there are several chairs with different topics to choose from for project work or for the bachelor thesis. Furthermore, compulsory elective modules and elective modules characterize the last two semesters, they enable the students to develop a personal focus.

    Методика оценки заявок

    The selection is made by means of a so-called "suitability assessment procedure". This is a two-stage process in which the suitability for the special qualitative requirements of the bachelor's degree is checked.

    In the first stage, the Abitur grades as well as the subject-specific individual grades and the submitted portfolio are evaluated using a points system. Depending on the number of points achieved, applicants are either admitted immediately, rejected or invited to a selection interview.

    The purpose of the procedure is to determine whether, in addition to the qualification proven with the acquisition of the university entrance qualification (HZB), the suitability for the special qualitative requirements of the bachelor's degree in architecture is available. 2For this course of study, the following aptitude requirements must be met in addition to the university entrance qualification: Course-specific competencies:

    • 1. Ability to analytical, structured thinking and acting in connection with far-reaching, qualified interdisciplinary problems that architecture and planning deal with,
    • 2. a spatial and visual imagination,
    • 3. a basic understanding of structural and design issues,
    • 4. high linguistic skills in German and English due to the intermediary position that architects assume in coordinating the interest groups involved in the planning processes, as well as the strong internationalization of the professional field.

    As part of the first stage of the aptitude assessment procedure, an assessment is carried out based on the following criteria:

    • Average grade of the HZB and
    • subject-specific individual grades; the weighting of the individual grades includes the grades listed in the HZB in the subjects mathematics (two-fold), German (simple), English (simple), art (three-fold), which were acquired in the last four semesters before acquiring the HZB , if necessary including the grades of the final exams in these subjects listed in the HZB; these are added up and divided by the number of individual grades; the grades for the specialist thesis or a comparable performance are not taken into account; if no half-yearly grades are shown, the average grades shown in the HZB are used accordingly; If no grade is shown in the HZB for a subject named in No. 2 above, the divisor must be reduced by the corresponding number; In this case, the basic understanding in the areas mentioned in § 1 must be proven by participating in the second stage of the procedure.
    • a folder with work samples (maximum ten A4 pages) showing an inclination or talent for manual and artistic work;
    • Instead of the portfolio, proof of relevant completed vocational training can be submitted; If an internship such as an internship is proven, the folder according to No. 3 must also be submitted.
    • Deviating from No. 1 and No. 2, for graduates of the master craftsman's examination as well as the professional advanced training examinations, which are equivalent to the master’s examination by the State Ministry, the criterion according to no.1 is made up of the criterion of the arithmetic mean of the individual grades of the respective examination parts and the criterion according to No. 2 is replaced by the criterion of the mentioned subject-specific individual grades in the subjects of mathematics (double), German and English (each single) and art (triple) of this examination. In the case of graduates from technical schools and technical academies, in deviation from No. 1 and No. 2, the criterion according to No. 1 is based on the criterion of the overall examination grade or, if no overall examination grade is shown, the criterion of the arithmetic mean of the individual grades of the subjects (excluded Elective subjects) of the final certificate and the criterion according to No. 2 replaced by the criterion of the subject-specific individual grades in the subjects mathematics (two-fold), German and English (each simple) and art (three-fold) in the final certificate. 3If no grade is shown for a given subject, the divisor must be reduced by the corresponding number; in this case, the basic understanding in the areas mentioned in § 1 must be proven by participating in the second stage of the procedure.

    The following applies to the implementation of the assessment:

    • The average grade of the HZB is converted into points (HZB points) on a scale from 0 to 100, with 0 being the worst possible and 100 being the best possible. 2The scale must be selected so that a HZB that has just been passed is rated with 40 points (conversion formula see attachment). 3Whoever claims that they have been prevented from achieving a better average grade at the HZB for reasons that lie within themselves and for which they are not responsible will, upon request, be included in the procedure with the average grade that is proven by school reports.
    • The result of the evaluation of the subject-specific individual grades according to Paragraph 1 No. 2 and, if applicable, the evaluation of the relevant vocational training according to Paragraph 1 No. 4 is / are converted into points on a scale from 0 to 100 according to No. 1 ( Conversion formula see attachment). 2 If this value is not a whole number, it is rounded up to the next larger whole number.
    • The submitted portfolio will be assessed by at least two members of the commission, one of which must be a university professor within the meaning of Art. 2 Para. 3 Clause 1 BayHSchPG, and correspondingly No. 1 in points on a scale from 0 to 100 rated.
    • The overall evaluation of the first level results from the sum of the HZB points multiplied by 0.55, the points multiplied by 0.25 from the subject-specific individual grades and the points multiplied by 0.20 from the portfolio or the relevant vocational training. If this value is not a whole number, it is rounded up to the next larger whole number.

    Result of the first stage of the aptitude assessment:

    • Those who have achieved 75 points and more in the first stage are admitted. 2This does not apply if the continued subject-specific individual grades were not shown in the HZB. 3 Even if the number of points is achieved, the subject-specific suitability must be proven by taking the second stage of the procedure.
    • Anyone who achieved 55 points or less in the first stage is considered unsuitable.

    The remaining applicants come to the second stage of the aptitude assessment procedure. 2 As part of the second stage of the aptitude assessment procedure, an interview is invited. 3The date for the selection interview will be announced by the commission at least one week in advance.

    Notwithstanding Paragraphs 1 to 3, applicants who were enrolled in the same or a related course of study at another university and are not directly admitted according to the criteria for the first stage take part in the second stage of the aptitude assessment procedure, provided that they can prove at least 20 credits per semester already completed.

    As part of the second stage of the aptitude assessment procedure, the average grade of the HZB and the result of the selection interview are assessed, whereby the average grade of the HZB is to be considered at least equally.

    The duration of the conversation is at least 15 minutes and should not exceed 25 minutes.

    The conversation includes the following topics:

    • 1. basic spatial and technical understanding;
    • 2. drawing, representational ability (including based on the submitted work samples);
    • 3. the ability to find a synthesis of spatial and design aspects of a problem, to convincingly present statements on the course-specific competencies required in § 1, paragraph 2 by means of arguments and meaningful examples, and to be able to respond appropriately to questions asked.

    The individual topics are weighted and rated as follows when determining the assessment of the selection interview:

    • 1. 0 to 30 points: the applicant is able to verbally and graphically address the problems raised during the interview; the applicant is able to understand problems as well as to sketch possible solutions and is able to reproduce spatial and technical representations correctly;
    • 2. 0 to 40 points: the applicant can justify the selection of the submitted work samples and is able to competently work on a drawing task during the interview;
    • 3. 0 to 30 points: the applicant is able to verbally synthesize spatial, constructive and design aspects of problems, to simplify a problem to important core parameters, to build models from them and to suggest methods; the applicant is able to respond confidently and precisely to the questions and tasks asked; It is also assessed whether the linguistic ability to express themselves corresponds to the level required for the course.

    The overall evaluation of the second stage results from the sum of the HZB points multiplied by 0.5 and the points of the selection interview multiplied by 0.5. If this value is not an integer, it is rounded up to the next larger number.

    If the overall rating according to Paragraph 3 is 70 or higher, suitability is determined on the basis of the result of the second stage of the aptitude assessment procedure and a notification of admission is issued. Applicants with an overall rating of 69 or less will receive a rejection notice.
