The study program mediates a comprehensive knowledge of these areas and the specialized terminology that comes with them. In addition, it will impart the ability to analyze and interpret works of art and other visual creations independently and critically regarding provenance, form, content, and meaning. The professional spectrum of art history studies is wide-ranging. Bachelor and Master degrees can be used in many areas of culture, e.g.:

- Journalism
- Publications
A doctorate is a prerequisite for many professions (e.g. volunteer / museum activity, monument conservation, university); the master's degree entitles the holder to do so.
