As an export nation in plant and mechanical engineering and in automobile production, Germany has a high demand for specialists in the field of robotics and automation. A large number of employees can be found in the field of electrical automation technology, e.g. in the production of control and switching devices or in image processing.

Automation specialists are just as important for manufacturers of production systems, in automobile production and for specialists in mechanical engineering, e.g. the machine tool manufacturers. The age pyramid in our population means that significantly more engineers will retire from their professional lives in the next few years than are currently being trained. The new course wants to help close this gap and at the same time train specialists for a very large segment of the labor market.

Basic internship

A basic internship is not required. Before starting your studies, however, we recommend that you work in relevant companies so that you can get an idea of what you will do later on.

Internship semester

The practical study semester is usually in the fourth semester. It is systematically guided and covers a continuous period of 18 weeks. There are also a number of practical courses. The internship semester can also be completed abroad. The university has good company contacts and helps in the search for a suitable internship.
