The production of automobiles as well as the upstream and downstream industry are of great importance for Germany as a business location and especially for the Free State of Saxony. Production and service companies, especially for the automotive and supplier industries, are increasingly demanding highly qualified engineering and technical personnel for work at home and abroad. Graduates of the automotive production and technology course are able to plan, project, manufacture, operate and acquire products and complex production systems in the automotive industry. The course offers in-depth modules on operational processes, production equipment, manufacturing processes, materials in automobile production as well as drive and vehicle technology.

The production of automobiles as well as the upstream and downstream industries are of great importance for Germany as a business location and especially for the Free State of Saxony. Production and service companies, especially for the automotive and supplier industries, are increasingly demanding highly qualified engineering and technical personnel for work at home and abroad. Automotive production graduates are able to plan, project, manufacture and operate products and complex production systems for the automotive and supplier industries. The course deals in-depth with operational processes, production equipment, manufacturing processes and materials in automobile production.The aim of the course is to train excellent and sought-after engineering specialists for the automotive industry. The automotive production and technology course is consecutive and combines basic and sustainable training in the field of automobile production with research-oriented training in line with the research profile of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In the bachelor's degree, vocational modules are offered with a focus on "production engineering and planning", with a focus on "technology and materials" and with a focus on "drive technology", thus mapping out important areas of application for graduates

- General university entrance qualification, a relevant subject-specific university entrance qualification, a master craftsman's examination or a university entrance qualification recognized as equivalent by law
- Basic internship of 6 weeks (to be proven by the beginning of the 3rd semester at the latest)
