Учебный план программы обучения "Business Administration"

The normal length of the degree course is six semesters (three years of study). It has a modular structure, and the content rests on three pillars: business administration, economics, and a mixture of quantitative methods, law and key qualifications.
The course sequence is based on the assumption that students embark on their studies in the winter semester. Both the modules and the course sequence can be found in the module guide book, which will be an indispensable companion throughout your time at the University.
In the first two years of your studies, you will be familiarised with the essentials of business administration. The spotlight will be turned successively on four major subdomains of this discipline, viz. accounting, finance, management, and marketing. You will also achieve an understanding of the principles of economics and private law and learn how to apply quantitative methods. In the second year you will acquire vital key competencies such as the ability to use foreign languages for business purposes, play business simulation games and do academic work. In the third year you can specalise in subjects of your choice by selecting options from a menu of compulsory modules. In seminars previously acquired knowledge is taken up again and integrated into new contexts. At the end of the course you have to write a bachelor’s thesis to demonstrate your ability to apply your skills and knowledge to the resolution of an academic problem.

The large faculty, which covers a broad range of contents and methods, is given structure and profile by its centres. They cluster numerous research and teaching activities of the individual chairs and institutes, and act as expert centres, research clusters and internal coordinators of the courses offered. The Marketing, Accounting, Finance and Management centres are complemented by the Center for Applied Research in Economics, the Center for Quantitative Economics, the Center for Economic Theory, the Center for Information Systems and the Center for Interdisciplinary Economics. One of the faculty’s characteristics is the close interaction and project-oriented cooperation of the centres’ researchers. Across the centres, applied problem solving approaches are developed and examined in theoretical and empirical projects. In addition to focussing on theoretical research, many application-oriented research projects are also secured for evidence-based implementation. The faculty, thus, is appreciated as a cooperation partner in economy, politics and administration.
