The Bachelor's degree in Business Education leads to the academic degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and opens employment opportunities in companies, associations and in public administration. With a broad economic and pedagogical basic education, the graduates of the bachelor's degree should be able to carry out activities in the field of in-company training, further education, training controlling or knowledge management after graduation.

After successfully completing the bachelor’s degree, graduates can take up various jobs in business or continue their studies with both the master’s degree in economics and the master’s degree in business education.

At the Saarland University, it is primarily used to train business teachers. For this, a 4-semester master's degree in business education is required after the 6-semester bachelor's degree. The passed master's examination is recognized as the first state examination for teaching at vocational schools and entitles to admission to the preparatory service (traineeship).

At the center of the bachelor's program is the acquisition of business knowledge in business administration and relevant parts of economics and law. For this purpose, basic knowledge in business education, didactics and educational science are imparted, which are required for training in professional practice. In addition, the first skills are learned from the techniques of scientific work.

The examination regulations for the bachelor's and master's degree programs provide for two fields of study (fields of study I and II) to be chosen in order to meet both a professional orientation in business and the goal of teaching at vocational schools.

Degree I only differs from the content of the degree course in business administration in terms of educational science and subject didactics.

In course II, a significantly higher proportion of business subjects is replaced by courses in general education with subject didactics. Biology, chemistry, German, English, Protestant religion, French, Catholic religion, mathematics, philosophy / ethics, physics or sport can be chosen as a general subject.
