With our course content you are optimally prepared for the part-time further training to become an actuary (DAV). Other professional fields in which our graduates work: Controlling, risk management, auditing, consulting, energy, telecommunications, software development and database programming.

The main research areas in business mathematics are finance and actuarial mathematics as well as risk management. Together with insurance companies, banks, consulting companies and industrial companies, research and development tasks are carried out here as part of final theses

The sixth semester in our bachelor's degree programs was deliberately designed in such a way that a semester abroad is easily possible without extending the study period. During semesters abroad in the fourth or fifth semester, the students are given dedicated advice by the foreign affairs officer and the languages ​​and international affairs department and, within the framework of a learning agreement, are benevolently supported in the recognition of achievements abroad, also in order to minimize the length of study.

Study modules

Complex mathematical models and concepts have found their way into professional practice at banks, fund companies, insurance companies and auditing firms. The bachelor's degree in Business Mathematics provides the relevant business mathematics basics. But mathematical and statistical knowledge also play an increasingly important role in other industries. In recent years, risk management has become an integral part of modern cross-sector and cross-border corporate management. Basic concepts and methods of risk management are taught in the various modules of the course. An application-oriented IT training with a focus on databases and object-oriented programming languages ​​underlines the practical relevance of the course and rounds it off.
