The master's degree in civil engineering is a consecutive four-semester degree. The civil engineering master’s degree course provides a deepening of specialist knowledge based on the knowledge acquired in the bachelor’s degree. The scientific basics and methodological skills are expanded and deepened. These contents improve the job market-oriented competencies of the graduates and graduates.

Учебный план программы обучения "Civil Engineering"
Key qualifications such as project-related work in a team and skills in oral and written presentations are acquired. The students are enabled to apply engineering methods responsibly, to work out practical problem solutions, to carry out research activities on a scientific basis and also to take into account non-technical references.
The curriculum concept provides for a lean compulsory part and a wide-ranging compulsory elective catalog. In the compulsory part, content from the areas of numerical methods, building maintenance and material cycle are conveyed. This takes into account the changed demands of the job market on civil engineers with modern training.
The compulsory elective catalog allows for a focus on the areas of “building materials and construction” or “water and transport”. It is supplemented by comprehensive content such as geotechnical engineering and geographic information systems. Possibilities for a further profile development are given within the framework of the two compulsory study projects and the master's thesis.

University of SiegenAt the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Siegen, a wide range of research activities are carried out in the eight sub-disciplines of biology, civil engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, mathematics and physics.
Profile-forming research focuses in the faculty are the topics of sensor technology, including chemical sensors, materials science and resource-saving systems, including vehicle technology. In addition, there is a research focus in the field of particle and astroparticle physics.
