Communication designers create apps, magazines, websites, virtual worlds or very real books - everything that has to do with professional communication. You help decide what brands look like. You have good ideas and a knack for how to implement them visually. Modern communication design, however, includes much more: From the guidance system in buildings to exhibition design for large museums, designers work on how content can be conveyed optimally. They advise companies and institutions on how they can present themselves and their products. And they are always partners when it comes to finding innovative and unconventional solutions to problems beyond the traditional communication market.

Students from Konstanz have different options for a stay abroad: The Erasmus exchange program enables students to stay at a partner university of the HTWG. Students can organize a stay abroad independently as so-called »free movers«. And many of our students simply do their practical semester abroad.

The fourth, fifth or sixth semester of the bachelor's degree is an integrated practical semester, »PSS«. This practical semester is an integral part of the main course of study and examination regulations and is required to complete the course. A completed basic course is required for admission to the PSS.

28 ECTS points are earned for successfully completing the internship and 2 ECTS points for successfully completing preparatory and follow-up compulsory courses - this results in the usual number of points for a study semester of 30 ECTS. Chile, Australia, the USA, Great Britain or maybe a Scandinavian country? Internships abroad are expressly recommended and desired by us.

The PSS consists of three parts:

• Part A: Block course at the university for preparation
• Part B: 95 days of attendance in the company
• Part C: Follow-up presentation; Report, evidence (certificate)
