Программа обучения "Computational Mathematics" в University of Bayreuth

Computational Mathematics

The aim of the Computational Mathematics bachelor's degree is a well-founded mathematical education with a special focus on application-relevant methods and algorithms that are implemented with the help of a computer. An in-depth qualification is placed on one of the areas of simulation, optimization, data analysis and data security. Its conception as an 8-semester Bachelor and its vertical structure in streams supports an independent and long-term success-oriented design of the course by the students. After graduation, graduates will also have good abstraction skills, excellent methodological skills and skills in implementing their ideas on the computer.

Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Computational Mathematics"

The high demand for well-trained workers with in-depth computer skills is well known. Graduates typically work in the scientific and technical field, for example in research and development departments in industry and science, and are in great demand due to their excellent methodological skills in the areas of simulation, optimization, data analysis and data security. Graduates therefore have the tools not only to apply, but also to further develop the relevant methodology in these areas.

Учебный план программы обучения "Computational Mathematics"

The "Computational Mathematics" bachelor's degree provides a solid mathematical education with a special focus on application-relevant methods and algorithms that are implemented with the help of a computer. Therefore, programming skills and the necessary basics from computer science and, if necessary, natural or engineering sciences are imparted. On this basis, students can currently choose between three different current specialization areas (streams):

  • Simulation and optimization of dynamic systems
  • Data analysis and approximation
  • Algorithmic algebra and data security

A stream consists of thematically coordinated courses from mathematics and corresponding lectures from the application subjects and thus allows deepening in the selected area. The "Computational Mathematics" course is permeable to the other mathematics courses, so that a change up to the 4th semester is possible without major difficulties.

Where would we be today without the many fascinating findings that have been made in the fields of mathematics, physics, and computer science? They play a crucial role in our everyday lives and have served as the starting point for a number of neighbouring disciplines. It goes without saying that these fields need scientists with vision and enthusiasm to make sure that creative sparks continue to reach research and teaching.
