Pre-clinical stage of study (1st - 5th semester)
In the pre-clinical stage of study, the dental training is based heavily on the human medicine course. Most of the lectures and internships are attended by students from both disciplines. B. in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Three courses geared towards practical dental technology and the accompanying lectures convey specific dental teaching content:

Course in technical propaedeutics (2nd semester) Phantom course I in dentistry (3rd semester) Phantom course II in dentistry (following the 3rd or 4th semester)

Clinical study section (6th - 10th semester)
The special part of the clinical study section comprises the lectures of the four main dental subjects:

Dentistry (cariology / endodontology, periodontology, pediatric dentistry), dentures, orthodontics, dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery

The clinical-practical training is structured in such a way that the following course can be used to build on the experiences from the previously completed courses. The general part of the clinical study section includes the subjects of internal medicine, general surgery, clinical chemistry, microbiology and hygiene, pathology, dermatology, pharmacology and ear, nose and throat medicine.

Требования к поступающим на программу обучения "Dentistry"

The following documents must be enclosed with the application for admission:

1. University entrance qualification
2. TestAS (test for foreign students) with the subject module "Mathematics, computer science and natural sciences"
3. Proof of German language skills
4. Original APS certificate for applicants from China or Vietnam

If documents are not in German or English, an official
Translation into German or English language required.
Evidence 1. to 3. and the corresponding translations are officially certified
Submit a photocopy to uni-assist by post.

Методика оценки заявок

In human medicine and dentistry, 5% of the available study places nationwide are awarded to foreign applicants. The following places are available for foreign applicants at Ulm University: In dentistry: 1 place in the summer semester and 1 place in the winter semester

The demand for these study places is very high. In the last application process at Ulm University, around 500 applications were received for human medicine and around 100 for dentistry. In fact, the chances of getting a place in these courses are only realistic with very good grades and a very good TestAS result.

The selection grade is calculated

a) 50% based on the average grade of the university entrance qualification and

b) 50% according to the result of the TestAS. The average of the standard value achieved in the core test and the standard value achieved in the subject module “Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences” gives the grade according to the conversion table

Note values ​​are determined to one place after the comma; it is not rounded.

The grade calculated from a) and b) improves by 0.3 if the language certificate for university entrance is DSH-3, TestDaF 4 x 5 or the “German” part of the assessment test at preparatory colleges with the grade “very good”. < br />

If the selection grade is equal, priority will be given to the result of the TestAS. If there is another tie, the lot decides.
