Карьерные перспективы по завершению программы обучения "Electrical and Information Engineering"
Electrical engineering, electronics and information technology can be found in almost all areas of life today. Electrical and Information Engineering engineers therefore have a correspondingly wide range of employment opportunities in a wide variety of sectors:
- Classic fields of work are the electrical industry, information and communications technology and energy technology.
- Electrical engineering and information technology are considered key technologies in a large number of sectors: mechanical engineering, automation technology, aerospace, the automotive industry, process engineering, medical technology, environmental protection technology, etc.
- Electrical engineers work in the field of research and development at universities and other public and private research institutions.
The numerous specialist areas of electrical engineering can be assigned to five main groups:
- Information technology: telecommunications; wired and wireless data transmission; audio and video technology; mobile communications; navigation; radar technology; traffic control technology; Computer technology,
- Medical technology: electromagnetic and electrophysiologically based therapy and diagnostic procedures (e.g. ECG, EEG, pacemaker systems or magnetic field therapy), sensor systems (e.g. laboratory and monitoring systems or "lab-on-chip") and imaging procedures in diagnostics (e.g. X-ray, CT, MRI or ultrasound),
- Microelectronics and micro- or nanosystem technology: development, manufacture, assembly, testing and quality control (e.g. of integrated circuits or sensors); software development for the computer-aided design of systems, circuits and components,
- Measurement, control and automation technology: automation and production processes, mathematical modeling of technical processes; robotics, safety technology and engine management in automobiles; telematics,
- Electrical power engineering: generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy and its application.

Учебный план программы обучения "Electrical and Information Engineering"
The single-subject Master's degree in Electrical and Information Engineering, which is taught entirely in English, has a scope of 90 credit points, of which 30 credit points are for the preparation of a Master's thesis. The standard period of study is 3 semesters.
The individual modules are explained in more detail in the module catalog. A module is assigned to one of the following four module groups:
- 5000 Core modules
- 6000 Advanced modules
- 7000 Seminars
- 8000 Internships and projects
At the beginning of the course, students put together their desired study plan - they can choose a study plan with or without a designated specialization. The following must be observed:
From module groups 5000 and 6000, the respective student selects modules totaling 45 credit points, with at least 15 credit points having to be allocated to each of these two module groups.
From module groups 7000 and 8000, the respective student selects modules totaling 15 credit points, with at least 5 credit points having to be allocated to each of these two module groups.
In addition to the modules listed here, suitable modules from other institutes, faculties or universities can be included in the individual module groups. Further information on recognition can be found in the subject-specific examination regulations.
In the case of specialization, the elective modules included are compiled in such a way that the study plans correspond to the specifications. More information on study plans with specialization can be found in Appendix B of the subject-specific examination regulations. The following specializations are currently available:
- Automation and System Theory
- Devices and Circuits
- Digital Communications
- Medical Applications
- Power Electronics, Control and Communications in Energy Systems
In order to ensure a certain breadth of training, only modules with a maximum of 30 credit points may be selected from a working group at the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The master's thesis is not taken into account here.
