Due to the increasing digitalisation and networking of economic processes, the education of students in the field of innovative ability – especially in areas of high technology – is gaining in importance. The research-oriented Master's programme “Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management” starts at this point and aims to provide students with the skills they need to start their own business or manage innovations in established companies. Описание программы обучения "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management"

In the upcoming winter semester 2020/21 a new English-language Master’s programme will start at our department. It is research oriented and aims at providing students with the necessary skills to start their own business or to manage innovation in established companies. Nowadays, digitization and networking of economic processes take on greater significance. Accordingly, the education of students in the field of innovative ability with a special focus on high technology is gaining in importance as well.

Based on the latest findings in this field of research, the course of study places particular emphasis on a sound teaching of methodological skills and a scientific education. Possible fields of profession include the foundation and management of an own growing company as well as activities in industrial and commercial enterprises, in management consultancies just as in associations. Graduates are trained both in management and the promotion of innovative capabilities, as well as in the control and optimization of innovation processes. They are thus provided with the necessary skills to steer innovation in companies and to take over management in innovation centres. At the same time, the Master's programme lays the foundation for research-oriented work in scientific institutions as well as research and development establishments.

In addition to the teaching of methodological knowledge, great importance is attached to a scientifically sound education based on the latest findings of entrepreneurship and innovation research. Possible professional fields include the foundation and management of an own growing company as well as work in industrial and commercial enterprises, in management consultancies or in associations. Graduates will be enabled to work in the management and promotion of the innovation capability of organisations, in the control and optimisation of innovation processes in companies or in the management of innovation centres. At the same time, the Master's programme lays the foundation for research-oriented work in scientific or public institutions or in research and development.

1. In order to be admitted to the Master’s course, the experience defined above must be proven for courses in economics with a total of at least 45 credit points (CP), mathematics and statistics with 20 CP, law with at least 9 CP and a seminar paper (6 CP) and a bachelor's thesis (12 CP) prepared independently.

2. Under the prerequisites from point 1, the following applies: If the applicant's bachelor's degree generally provides experience in the form described above, but does not cover all of the essential economics content for the chosen master’s degree, admission to the As a rule, they can only be awarded if both the final grade and the CP-weighted average of the individual module grades for lectures and exercises as well as comparable course types in the field of economics are not worse than 3.0 and each individual module grade in this area is better than 4.0 . In the case of a bachelor's degree that does not meet the requirements defined above in terms of the type of task and the independence of processing, it can be assumed that this deficiency is due to personal abilities if the applicant's grades in the field of economics are sufficiently good the applicant can be compensated. In this case, admission is granted if both the final grade and the CP-weighted average of the individual module grades of lectures and exercises as well as comparable course types in the field of economics are better than 2.0 and no individual module grades in this area are worse than 3 , 0 are.

4. Experience gained elsewhere (e.g. from professional activity or from advanced training courses) will be taken into account in the assessment of suitability for the master’s degree, provided that it corresponds to the above-described experiences both in terms of content and the demands on the task and independent processing and these competencies are subject to the generally applicable quality assurance standards have been acquired and assessed by universities.
