For students who want to manage innovative computer games from development to marketing, the future-oriented game production and management course is the right choice. Business administration, project management, communication / design and the basics of IT development are components of the internationally oriented course. The students receive specialist knowledge of business administration and business psychology and are prepared for their professional work as game producers. In addition, they acquire management and project management skills in order to take on the management of the development, implementation and market launch of new digital games or digital applications such as virtual reality or augmented reality in the booming industry of the future.

The Game Production and Management programme opens up career opportunities in project management or production management in the booming industry of video games. As a game producer, you will be responsible for managing the conceptualisation, development, production and marketing of digital games and applications such as virtual reality and augmented reality.

In addition to coming up with new ideas for games, career starters also develop the corresponding business models and coordinate the process all the way from the initial idea to the market launch. Game producers find employment in game production studios, with publishers and with organisations in the gaming sector. This programme also offers career prospects in the areas of visualisation, serious gaming and gamification, e.g. in the automotive industry.

Students can complete a study or practical semester abroad between the 4th and 7th semester. The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences supports stays abroad through partnerships with universities around the world.

All of our bachelor’s degree programmes include an internship semester with a minimum of 100 days of practical training in a company, either in Germany or abroad.

The HNU offers a study program with in-depth practical experience between the first and third semesters. Practical phases including practical semesters take place in the company and last a total of at least seven months.

Project-based learning plays a major roll in this programme. Projects with industrial partners serve to establish a connection to the field at an early stage. Here, students work on defined issues in teams. Acquired theoretical knowledge is compiled and directly implemented for industrial purposes within the space of a few weeks. Students and instructors have access to modern laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

With a degree in Game Production and Management as a foundation, you will later be able to take on management responsibilities in a booming industry of the future, overseeing the conceptualisation, realisation and market launch of new digital games or similar applications, such as virtual reality or augmented reality.

The bilingual curriculum is taught by professors and instructors who draw on their own practical experience. The course work is supplemented by an internship semester and a final thesis with practical relevance. The thesis is generally carried out in cooperation with companies or organisations from the gaming industry.

In order to do justice to the international orientation of the game industry, "Game Production and Management" is an international course of study.
