From the winter semester of 2021/2022, the Faculty of Law will be offering a master's degree program for lawyers who have graduated abroad, which explicitly relates to German law in the German language. This is designed to last two semesters and allows you to study German law and its methods with individual focus and comparative legal elements.
The consecutive master's degree program is aimed at lawyers who have already completed a bachelor's or master's degree worth 240 credit points (LP) abroad.

With an LL.M. Lawyers have a unique selling point in the field in which they specialize. However, the master's degree does not qualify you to practice state-regulated legal professions. Possible professional fields include, for example, the legal and human resources departments of companies as well as banks and insurance companies.
Учебный план программы обучения "German Law"
The master's program regularly begins with the lecture period in October and ends in the following September. The course consists of three study sections. In the first part of the course, compulsory introductory modules (10 CP) must be completed. In the second stage of study, five areas of focus are offered, of which students must successfully complete one area of focus as an elective area (35 credits). In addition, a master's thesis must be completed in the third part of the course (15 credits).

From its inception, the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg has placed a strong emphasis on international law issues. With the Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Graduate School of Law, we are the first German law faculty to offer a structured, internationally oriented doctoral program. The competence in international issues also means that the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg is the consortium leader of the China-EU School of Law.
Today over 4,000 students are trained and supervised by 34 professors and around 80 academic staff.
The main building of the faculty is the law house on Rothenbaumchaussee, in which all facilities (professorships, faculty administration and central law library) can be found.
In its 58th meeting on December 17, 2014, the Faculty Council approved the mission statement for the Faculty of Law.
