Students have the option to select personal specializations in the fields of business administration and business informatics. The courses in business administration address topics of relevance to management and that are specific to the segment to qualify students to work in independent and executive positions. Courses such as International management, International business relations and International law as well as study time abroad prepare students for a career in an international environment. It should be emphasized that the degree program also offers students the opportunity - with the support of the Institute of Management - to engage with the topic of enterprise foundation and to establish businesses. The combination of business administration and computer science is also highly appealing to enterprises. Master’s degree graduates start their careers in IT-related positions with leading organizations of national and international repute. It is an interesting professional environment with varied activities such as designing and developing IT systems, evaluating the commercial and organizational potential of modern information technology, active management of corporate processes, product management, and designing risk management and risk control measures. Graduates with a Master’s degree in Computer Science may apply for admission to a doctoral degree program.

Content

The "Master of Science" in Information Management offers a independent, second training qualification , which aims at advanced professional qualifications, but also qualifies for a scientific activity, for example as a basis for a doctorate. The stay abroad prepares for an international assignment. Proof of achievement acquired abroad will be integrated into the specified curriculum and credited for corresponding events in Germany.

The master's program is based on three pillars:

Compulsory events in economics, business informatics and law focus on management-relevant and internationally oriented topics.
Elective courses enable the training of individual focuses in different areas of information management.
Research internship, soft skills and master thesis promote social skills such as team orientation, project management and the ability to work scientifically.

Structure

In the master’s course, individual focus training is possible in the field of economics and business informatics. These specializations offer the opportunity to further qualify in a targeted manner in the previous or a desired new professional field.

In the Master's program in Information Management, the specialization options are primarily in the area of economics; A stronger focus on specialization options in the field of computer science and business informatics is possible in the master's program in business informatics.
