In addition to fundamental business administration theories and instruments, the Interkulturelle Betriebswirtschaftslehre / Intercultural Business Studies (B.Sc.) bachelor program provides you with the capability for global thinking and action. While a first component of the program introduces the content of business studies with a particular reference to international business activity, a second component serves for the acquisition of intercultural competencies and linguistic qualifications, taking into account the ever increasing international presence and networking of companies and other institutions.

A degree in intercultural business administration without a stay abroad? Hard to imagine! A degree abroad is integrated into the course of study, which is ideally planned for the fifth semester. The study abroad can be completed at universities in industrialized countries as well as in emerging and developing countries on all five continents. The Faculty of Business and Economics and the Philipps University of Marburg run numerous exchange programs at universities in and outside of Europe. Of course, you can study abroad at partner universities or on your own initiative at universities of your choice.

The course aims at basic qualifications in the scientific and practical areas of business administration , intercultural understanding and action competence . These qualifications result from the close interlinking of the business administration and international economics, culture and language study areas.

The first component of the course is the mastery of basic business theories and instruments with a special reference to international economic activity. In addition, the course offers various opportunities to deepen in business and economic topics.

As a second component, the International Economy, Culture and Language department focuses on intercultural competencies and linguistic qualifications , which means that companies and others are increasingly networked internationally Institutions take into account. In this area, the course initially imparts basic knowledge about cultural areas either from an ethnological, geographical or historical perspective. During the course of the course, the course offers the opportunity to place a special cultural and economic focus on Industrialized Countries and Emerging Markets .

This focus enables students to develop an independent profile even during their bachelor's degree according to individual inclinations and current labor market demands. The contents of the course are rounded off by method modules as well as voluntary internships that support the learning of the necessary practical skills, i.e. the ability to apply the specialist knowledge learned. In order to prepare graduates for the internationality of professional practice, international and intercultural courses as well as courses are offered in English and the integration of a semester abroad into the course of studies is strongly recommended. In this way, a voluntary study abroad can be integrated into the course of studies without extending the study period. The period of the fourth or fifth semester is planned for this.
