Intercultural management is your thing? Then International Business is your study.

In the International Business course, you will look behind the scenes of the business world and take the best of all perspectives - your very own personal one. Whether you are a sustainable, communicative or intercultural student, as in your chosen specialization Intercultural Management: By setting a focus, you determine which direction your International Business studies take.

Semester abroad

Foreign countries, exotic smells, colors, shapes and sounds, unexpected impressions, a market in Jakarta, a wedding in New Delhi, meeting new people, absorbing foreign cultures, seeing the world through different eyes and being amazed. Totally and mind blowingly amazed.

This is precisely what Karlshochschule wants. To set no limits on my developmental or cultural experiences, the keyword is Internationalism. As well as making English the teaching language, as well as offering a wide choice of other languages, Karlshochschule also offers me the chance to study for a semester at one of over 100 partner universities, such as San Diego, Sydney and Shanghai without losing any time.

Normally, the semester abroad in the International Business and Management study programs will take place in the fifth semester. In the International Relations, Citizenship and Civic Engagement, Globalization, Governance and Law as well as Politics, Philosophy and Economics courses, it takes place in the fourth semester.

Partner Universities

For me, the incredible international network of Karlshochschule is one of its greatest advantages. It is a member of the ATLAS network, Businet, and EAIE. It participates in the ERASMUS+ program (D KARLSRU08), and maintains close ties with universities and institutions around the globe. These partnerships involve student and faculty exchanges, joint projects, and the regular sharing of information. Currently there are over 100 agreements that have been made with universities around the world, and the numbers are still growing.

Стажировки и практика в программе обучения "International Business: Intercultural Management"

Company projects

I see myself at a University where I can practically apply the knowledge and skills that I'm learning. So right from the first semester I'm in touch with real life economy and culture. Where I can experience real CEOs and company founders as lecturers, and take field trips with my professors and fellow students, to fascinating business venues.

By increasing the amount of practical content from semester to semester, I increase my experience and real life competencies. The project phases begin in the third semester where I can get involved as part of a team creating real business programs like strategy analysis or social media campaigns.

I'm told many students consider these project phases as one of the most intense, but also most satisfying parts of their studies. This is when the University becomes an idea factory designed to inspire different groups of students to seriously impress their clients. The lecture halls are emptied, and pin boards and projectors are set up, and everything is focussed on the project. Ultimately of course, the end results will be presented to both clients and professors. To help me stand out, the University equips the groups with coaches from a wide range of disciplines, like presentation professionals and leaders from industry and culture, psychologists as well as drama coaches. This means I can always get the right help, advice and knowledge, right when I need it.

Internship

At the end of my studies I start my internship: three to six months in which I show what I can do under real conditions. For me this is the best step into my professional life and also a good source for the topic of my bachelor thesis. The Karlshochschule supports me with advice and practical help in selecting my internship - among other things with the best contacts to international companies, NGOs and cultural institutions.

The exchange and trade of merchandise and services helps define our human relations. That is why I feel that economics should have a human side to it and be adjusted to clear values. I want to understand the economic system as something that is not characterized by maximizing returns and the pursuit of profit but by sustainability and commitment – an economic system where globalization is not perceived as a threat but as a chance for humane and fair treatment.

It is for this reason that I have chosen the International Business degree program at Karlshochschule. For the economy is not only examined from an economic standpoint here, but mainly as a cultural and linguistic phenomenon. In this place, I develop the ability to identify differences within and between cultures and to act with confidence on an international stage. One thing that helps me is the wide range of management tools that I have become familiar with at Karlshochschule. Another benefit is that the degree program International Business has a consistently international orientation: English is the language of instruction right from day one, and learning one of eight foreign languages, such as Chinese or Spanish, is mandatory.
