Описание программы обучения "International Economics and Management"
The program is designed to impart both theoretical and methodological knowledge on international firms, open economies, development, and globalization. The program is structured around core and elective modules. In addition to a core structure it offers a high degree of flexibility to enable you to tailor the program to your individual interests. It is also regularly updated to take into account the latest research and issues in international management.
On the basis of the program’s international orientation all modules are offered through English (German speaking modules are also available). The international orientation is not only apparent through the English language study option. In addition, the study program holds strong partnerships globally with numerous partner universities as well as various cooperations through the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. This provides students with the opportunity to integrate a study abroad into their study program through the support of the faculty. The M.Sc. in International Economics and Management prepares graduates for executive careers in international companies and institutions and functions where they will be expected to prepare and analyze an organization’s strategic position in the global market.
The economic and operational competences acquired during the program enables graduates to work through theoretical and real-life issues and to develop detailed solutions. The ability to analyze challenges in a global economic context empowers international companies, public and private sector institutions, and nongovernmental organizations by providing a sound scientific foundation to their decision-making. Graduates of the M.Sc. program in International Economics and Management develop the key competences required for an international career.
The M.Sc. in International Economics and Management also prepares for a more research-oriented career. Graduates will be equipped with the requisite skills to continue their studies with an internationally acknowledged research degree or Ph.D. program.

Reflecting its international orientation the master program International Economics and Management is taught in English. Furthermore, the program is an integrated member of the international campus of the faculty of Business Administration and Economics which comprises e.g. a network of international connections through both collaboration and research. Three particular study specials of the master program, which highlight its global orientation are the ASBE-, the double master program as well as the International Forum Economics and Management.Учебный план программы обучения "International Economics and Management"
All study programs of the Faculty for Business Administration and Economics are constructed based on their modules. Each specific study field has associating modules, from which a predetermined number of ECTS must be attained in order to successfully complete the study program. The study program International Economics and Management consists of the following fields of study:
- Methods
- Economics
- Management
- An additional field for profiling which consists of all modules available from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics ('General Elective')
The mandatory modules serve to create basic skills and to fulfill fundamental requirements. The method modules "Methods of Economic Analyses" and "Econometrics" provide basic methodological competences including mathematical abilities as well as empirical and econometrical methods.
The elective modules ("Econ-Elective" and "Management-Elective") contribute to your profile building. According to their focus, these electives must come either from the field of "Economics" or "Management". The 20 ECTS-credits for the "General-Elective" modules can be freely chosen from the modules of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics which are available according to the module catalogue.

- Bachelor´s degree or equivalent study degree with minimum 180 ECTS, including at least:
- 80 ECTS Economics and Business Administration of which
- 20 ECTS Economics
- 40 ECTS Quantitative Methods of which
- 10 ECTS Mathematics
- 10 ECTS Statistics
- 10 ECTS Bachelor´s Thesis
- Final Grade:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5, belong to the best 35% of the graduates of your bachelor's year group or ability to compensate with an in-depth specialisation in the fields of economics/quantitative methods up to a GPA of 3.0 (for further information look into the category "Admission Requirements"). The possibility of compensation is checked automatically during the application process.
- Documentation of English Proficiency (if you can not document at least 5 years with lessons in English at school (German institute and in class 5 at the earliest)) through
- Studies in English-speaking countries (Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and USA)
- Accredited English-speaking study program in Germany
- Language test TOEFL 87 iBT
- Equivalent proficiency

- Documentation of German Proficiency (if you didn't obtain a German University Entrance Degree)
- Minimum German proficiency level of A2 GER must be proven before the conclusion of the master program
- Paderborn University offers German courses consisting of 240-hours in duration
