The internationally oriented International Engineering degree programme offers you a unique combination of technology (specialising in mechanical engineering or medical technology), languages and business. We want you to gain as much practical and international experience as possible - giving you the best starting conditions for a successful international career!
Basics and languages
In your first two semesters of IEB, you'll acquire the basics in engineering (specialising in mechanical engineering or medical technology), intercultural competence and business. We supplement this knowledge with intensive language lessons in English and another foreign language (either Chinese, French or Spanish).
Discover your preferences
From the third semester onwards, you will be taking your advanced level courses and will have the unique opportunity to design part of your studies individually through elective areas that interest you personally. And then it's time to make the exciting decision of where you would like to spend your semester abroad! Studying at one of our numerous partner universities worldwide is free of charge for you.
Practical conclusion
After the semester abroad, numerous interesting internship and thesis options await you. You choose a company in which you would like to work for a semester – and often the topic for your bachelor's thesis is found there (as well as many contacts!). With the IEB degree, you have excellent opportunities on the national and international job market.

The following subjects and criteria are to be taken into account when creating the ranking list as part of the selection process:
1. Result of the university entrance qualification (HZB grade) and
2. Mathematics,
3. German,
4. A continued foreign language; (if several foreign languages are taken, the course taken in all four semesters of the upper school is given priority, then the course completed with the best result is given priority).
5. Completed vocational training in a recognized training profession,
6. Practical work,
7. Extracurricular achievements, e.g. prizes and awards,
8. Work abroad lasting at least 3 months,
9. Passed exams in the orientation study model Orientation Technology,
