A video conference to the USA, a business trip to Japan and a conference call with colleagues in Rome, Istanbul and Madrid: Global work is not only the order of the day in large corporations, but also in medium-sized companies. The International Management course prepares students for these challenges and conveys much more than business administration at an international level. In addition, semesters abroad enable you to acquire international management expertise and develop intercultural skills.

Topics such as internationalization strategies and intercultural management are treated in exactly the same way as marketing, innovation, finance, personnel and digital transformation. The students are enabled to recognize challenges for different company areas in internationally operating organizations and to develop solution strategies for them. The International Management course promotes independent, analytical and critical thinking. In addition, special emphasis is placed on the development of intercultural competence as a key qualification for future career entry.

The course prepares students excellently for a Master of Science and also offers flexible employment in many areas of national and international companies and non-profit organizations. After graduation, our students work, for example, in industrial, commercial and service companies, management consultancies, start-ups, NGOs or in public institutions; in areas such as marketing, business development, finance or human resources.

In addition, we encourage our students to complete part of their studies at a university abroad. With more than 30 partner universities in over 20 countries, the course offers students the opportunity to expand what they have learned and to further develop intercultural skills.

In the first four semesters of the International Management course, you will learn the basics of an economics course with a focus on international issues. Building on this, the course offers specific options for specializing in different aspects of international management. In addition, from the first semester onwards, students are prepared for the bilingual offer of the specialization subjects with intensive English language training. This mix of German and English subjects is outstanding.

Internationality is not only conveyed in the International Management course, but also lived. Especially in the English-language subjects of the degree program, we welcome foreign students from more than 10 nations and promote international exchange. In addition, we encourage our students to complete part of their studies at a university abroad. For approx. 600 freshmen, that is 20% of the total OVGU re-enrollments, started full-time studies at the Faculty of Economics on 9th October. A good half of them study Business Administration, International Management and International Business and Economics in the bachelor programs. The continuing trend towards internationalization is underlined not only by the fact that BWL and IM, each with approximately 125 enrollments, were almost equally in demand for the first time. About a third of our "Freshmen" also study in the English-language programs of our International Study Program (ISP). With about 90 beginners in the Business Administration / Business Economics program, this year's OVGU master's degree program is also the largest in the FWW.

If everything goes according to plan, today's first semester students will already graduate with us in three (Bachelor) or two years (Master). A recent orientation week organized by the Student Council and many committed helpers from the student body and faculty administration has set the course for this. All participants are in recognition and a heartfelt thank you, the freshmen expressed the best wishes for their further study!
