Graduates of M.Sc. in Business Informatics have the ability to quickly integrate into complex information technologies in companies and to be able to serve them professionally. Students of M.Sc. in Business Informatics are prepared for both a career in research and in the private sector. On the one hand, the students will be prepared for an entry into a doctoral program, on the other hand, after completing the Master's degree, they will not stand in the way of a successful career in areas such as management, consulting and software development. The English-language Master of Science in Business Informatics at WWU Münster offers the perfect combination of the traditional economics education of the University of Münster and the internationally focused research environment of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS). University of MünsterThe large faculty, which covers a broad range of contents and methods, is given structure and profile by its centres. They cluster numerous research and teaching activities of the individual chairs and institutes, and act as expert centres, research clusters and internal coordinators of the courses offered. The Marketing, Accounting, Finance and Management centres are complemented by the Center for Applied Research in Economics, the Center for Quantitative Economics, the Center for Economic Theory, the Center for Information Systems and the Center for Interdisciplinary Economics. One of the faculty’s characteristics is the close interaction and project-oriented cooperation of the centres’ researchers. Across the centres, applied problem solving approaches are developed and examined in theoretical and empirical projects. In addition to focussing on theoretical research, many application-oriented research projects are also secured for evidence-based implementation. The faculty, thus, is appreciated as a cooperation partner in economy, politics and administration.
Требования к поступающим на программу обучения "Master of Science in Information Systems (IS)"
Prospective students interested in joining our Master program need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent (min. three years or six semesters) in Management Information Systems or a similar program with a connection to IT and Business.
You may apply before graduation in case you have already completed 75% or 140 ECTS of your program. (please have a look at the required documents section below)
- An average grade of 2.9 or better. (cumulative grade point average according to the German grading system)
- A solid foundation of knowledge in these subject areas (at minimum courses worth 18 credits (ECTS) in each of the following subject areas ):
- Information systems (process modelling),
- Computer science (data modelling and software development),
- Quantitative methods (operations research, statistics) and
- Business administration.
- Proof of English language proficiency (not older than 2 years) on the level of C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
No knowledge of German is necessary for the M.Sc. in Information Systems, although it would be very useful for your stay in Münster.
