In the first two semesters, students receive a basic mathematical, scientific and technical education that will prepare them for current and future technologies. In addition, the personal profile is sharpened by subjects such as specialist English, law, business administration as well as professional ethics and technology assessment.
The third semester is for your own orientation. Through the choice of courses and project work, the students can already form the first professional focus and prepare for a field of study. The course of study is defined after the third semester.

RheinMain University of Applied SciencesIn 2006, the Faculty of Engineering was re-established as an independent department at our university, in order to meet future requirements for a modern study.
Due to the increasing intermeshing of individual disciplines such as natural sciences, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, modern engineering today offers numerous opportunities at the interfaces of various technical disciplines. As a result of the growing interdisciplinary nature, the "classical" job descriptions are also changing towards new fields of activity. The new occupational requirements are characterized, on the one hand, by a convergence of science and technology and, on the other, by interdisciplinarity: If beneficial processes and technologies are to be developed on the basis of the latest scientific findings, individual technical disciplines must no longer be considered in isolation, but must intermesh. As a Department of Engineering we are committed to our goal to combine interdisciplinary and application-oriented development with the best teaching in modern Bachelor's and Master's programs.
