Media management is largely a business degree. What is special about this course is the imparting of knowledge, abilities and practical skills in the fields of economics and law, media technology and media studies. This interdisciplinary approach is intended to enable graduates to design and control business processes on their own responsibility and in interdisciplinary cooperation with business economists, media technologists, media scientists and partners from other disciplines, taking into account media-specific issues in particular.

As part of the bachelor's degree, basic specialist knowledge is imparted. In the higher semesters, introductory courses in specialist subjects, in particular business administration, are offered. Successful studies lead to the professional qualification "Bachelor of Science". It qualifies for the subsequent master’s degree.

Graduates of the Media Management degree are employed in the core business areas of private and public companies, especially companies in the media sector. Graduates of the Media Management course open up fields of activity in almost all economically relevant areas of the media sector as well as in companies where media competence is required. The well-founded training and the simultaneous acquisition of interface skills also open up areas of application in public and private companies in all sectors, in teaching and research institutions as well as in consulting companies. Another promising perspective opens up through the development and marketing of your own products, ideas and processes in entrepreneurial independence. The modern, interdisciplinary course enables future graduates to perform managerial tasks in middle and higher management - especially in the media area. The specialist internship in the 6th semester lasts 12 weeks and can be completed in companies in Germany and abroad.

The aim of the course is to provide students with thorough specialist knowledge in the field of media management and to instruct them to work independently using scientific methods. They should acquire the ability to familiarize themselves independently with the diverse tasks of application and research-related fields of activity and to cope with the frequently changing tasks that they will encounter in later professional life. The Media Management course aims to train interdisciplinary executives for middle and higher corporate management as well as for tasks in the area of ​​interface management on the basis of a business administration course content with media-specific additional qualification. This course objective is achieved in the Media Management course through a comprehensive and thorough acquisition of knowledge, skills and practical skills in the fields of media studies, media technology and economics and law, as well as through university-specific training in special areas of media management. The imparted basic principles, models and tools enable the graduate to develop analytical thinking and methodical procedures. An essential part of the course is also imparting the most practical insights and skills possible.
