Our society is inconceivable without mobility - we would not be able to reach our jobs, schools, shops, doctors, but also friends, cinemas and beer gardens. Cars, buses, trains, roads, rails, airports are building blocks of a highly complex traffic system. In order for this system to function and interact economically, reliably and in an environmentally friendly manner, a wide range of management tasks in companies, authorities and civil society have to be mastered.

Graduates of the Mobility Management B. Eng. take on these tasks. They analyze our traffic problems from a planning-technical perspective as well as from a social science point of view, develop new, innovative solutions from a user perspective and implement the solutions sustainably.

Mobility management consists of three pillars - which are equivalent in the course of study:

  • Traffic and mobility engineering: The consideration of planning processes, the design of infrastructures or the conception of networks are shaped by engineering.
  • Subjective mobility behavior: Traffic and mobility are organized by people for people. Individual mobility behavior is the basis of transport demand. Diverse influences affect mobility behavior. Whether these can be attributed to the action situation, the available transport or the person who made the decision, they can be measured empirically and analyzed statistically. Such analyzes are used to design and promote means of transport and are therefore an important part of tomorrow's transport system.
  • Institutions: Our transport system is maintained and developed by various actors. This often requires highly dynamic and apparently unpredictable economic, legal and political processes. Here, management means understanding and intelligently influencing the dynamics of social systems.

Mobility affects everyone in their own immediate living environment. This results in a number of very diverse fields of activity. Excursions

Excursions are an integral part of the Mobility Management course, both on a smaller scale as part of individual modules and in the form of international events lasting several days. The excursions enrich your studies and are an impressive way to get to know examples in practice.

Under the topic "Development Lines Dubai versus Oman", a joint excursion of the degree programs Mobility Management, Architecture and Real Estate Management took place as part of the Workshop International course. The basic idea of ​​the course is a human-oriented design of mobility and transport. Graduates not only acquire transport planning skills, but also deal with the interactions between transport, business and society.

Mobility management is already actively used in companies, municipalities and educational institutions and there is a great need for consulting services in this area. This is exactly where the course comes in with its combination of traditional traffic planning and social, business and communication science content.

During the course, the students not only receive answers to questions about mobility planning, but also business and legal aspects of the mobility and transport industry are dealt with. In addition, the teaching of personal and social skills is of great importance, which rounds off the overall picture of a modern university education.

    The Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering builds on the 140-year tradition of the Idstein Royal College for Construction and Mechanical Engineering and offers a perfect study environment with state-of-the-art laboratories for its 2,300 students.

    Our professors have excellent contacts and bring their real-world experience into the classroom. Courses reflect the state of the art of architecture and civil engineering practice. There is a close cooperation with the Wiesbaden Construction Materials Testing Center and other scientific institutions.
