The international course is supported jointly by the University of Göttingen, the University Medicine, the German Primate Center and the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Natural Sciences. Leading scientists from all partners offer research-oriented training across a broad spectrum of modern molecular life sciences with access to their state-of-the-art laboratories during method courses and individually supervised research projects.
After the intensive first year of study, the students can acquire a master's degree after a six-month master's thesis or switch directly to the doctoral part of the integrated master's / doctoral program (fast-track option).
As an International Max Planck Research School, the multiple award-winning course offers scholarships to all students. A dedicated team provides support with a wide range of services and individual study/career advice.

Учебный план программы обучения "Molecular Biology"
In 36 weeks of lectures with accompanying tutorials, 20 method courses during the first three months of the master's degree and three eight-week research projects (laboratory rotations), in-depth knowledge in the following areas of molecular biosciences is imparted:
Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Metabolic Physiology, Cell Biology, Oncology, Immunobiology, Neurobiology, Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Systems Biology, Biotechnology.
Key competencies such as good scientific practice, scientific writing, presentation techniques, design of scientific illustrations and the experimental handling of laboratory animals are taught in workshops and applied in the context of laboratory rotations and report seminars.
In addition, all foreign students can take part in free German courses, which are optionally offered at different levels as introductory intensive courses and evening courses to accompany their studies.
During the subsequent doctoral studies, the students benefit from the wide range of qualifications (scientific method courses, key qualification courses, industrial excursions, language courses, other events) offered by the GAUSS Graduate School and the GGNB Graduate Center.
Annual retreats of the course, the student-organized international conference Horizons in Molecular Biology and regular cultural nights contribute to a close personal and scientific exchange.

Faculty of Biology and Psychology
Georg-August-Universität GöttingenToday the Faculty of Biology and Psychology focuses on three major research fields: molecular biosciences, biodiversity and ecology, and neuro-biology and behaviour. The faculty is organized in three institutes for biology and one institute for psychology: The Albrecht-von-Haller Institute of Plant Sciences, the Johann-Friedrich-Blumenbach-Institute for Zoology and Anthropology, the Institute of Microbiology and Genetics and the Georg-Elias-Müller Institute of Psychology.

In addition to information on personal career and motivation and the uploading of all relevant documents, the contact details of two experts for letters of recommendation should also be given. The reviewers should be informed by the students in good time about the planned application.
All applicants will be informed in the second half of January whether they have qualified for the second selection round (15-minute online interviews at the end of January).
In a third selection round in mid-February, the decisions on admission will be made on the basis of two personal interviews (each 30 minutes).
